1973 Suzuki T 500
1978 Suzuki GS 550
1978 Suzuki GS 750 E
1979 Suzuki GS 1000 S
1982 Suzuki GS 1100 E

Owners: Dave and Joe Weir,
Portland, Oregon, USA

Comments: ”All these bikes are both my brother's and mine. I(Joe) operate a sign shop and we restore bikes for our own pleasure as well as doing the usual carb and valve adjustments for friends.

My brother Dave is a huge Suzuki fan so I kind of followed suit. Here in Portland, Oregon there is a huge Vintage bike following with many people leaning towards the Honda trend. Dave and I are steadfast in our Suzuki quest, constantly trying to find other examples. ...Although we've had our share of Vintage Hondas...

The T-500 was a basket case that I restored completely. It has a custom fiberglass seat pan, clip-ons, 1978 GS 750e triple trees and front forks, single tach, rear sets from a 2003 Hayabusa, trick paint job, and more!

This 2-stroker hardly smoked after rebuilding and fine tuning the oil pump. She went smooth and stylish through the gears. I finally sold it to a friend over the Winter. I still see and hear her around town.

People are now starting to realize how well-built and bullet-proof the GS series are, and how collectible these older bikes can be.

My brother has just sold his 1982 Katana GS1000SZ (see previous page) with 3,200 miles to a Motorcycle museum in Solvang, California www.motosolvang.com. sit proud amongst this awesome collection of Vintage Motorcycles. He hated to part with it. It was just too nice to ride! He is now searching for another one to restore.

Dave now has a GS1000SZ motor fitted into his 1978 GS750E frame.

The 1978 GS750E was built by my brother in the Spring of 2003. Complete restoration with a re-spray of original Suzuki colors and pinstripes. We came across a 20k 1982 GS1000SZ Katana that was being parted out! Shame! We got the engine dirt cheap and with "some" fabricating he installed the SZ motor and fired up like a champ.

This bike gets a lot of double takes from the true Suzuki fans. A 4 into 1 Vance and Hines, GS850G dual disc front end, Dyna Electronic ignition. This sleeper flies and stops on a dime! Her name is Puffy - she used to smoke with the old tired engine - and she's a keeper.”

2003 Suzuki DR 650 R

Owner: Bill Nale, USA
Round Rock, Texas, USA

Comments: ”I have owned a 1982 GS1100 and 1993 DR650's.
Suzukis are great bikes! This is my current Suzuki, a 2003 DR650, stock exhaust and suspension. It has a 4.9 gal IMS plastic tank, Corbin seat , tail rack and S06 windshield. I want to change the exhaust and jetting with some suspension enhancements.”

2005 Suzuki GSF 650 S Bandit

Owner:
Benny Bentzen,
Stenløse, Denmark

Purchased: May 2005

Mods: No modifications made.

Comments: ”Procuring a motorcycle was a long term dream that came true. Last bike I had was a Matchless 600cc back in 1962! I had never really forgotten the thrill of riding a bike. I am 64 years of age.

I am not the racing type of person but I find this Bandit easy to handle and comfortable for longer rides. You are sitting more upright than for example on the SV models, so less bodyweight is applied to your wrists. My only (minor) complaint is that this bike like most other high rev. bikes has six gears to shift. It takes time to get used to that.”
