1986 Suzuki GS 700 ES
1993 Suzuki GSX 1100 F Katana

Owner: George Lee,
Medina, Ohio, USA

Comments: “Here are two pictures of a couple of Suzukis I've owned. The blue and white one is a '86 GS700. It was a 750 everywhere outside of the USA. Harley complained about Jap bikes over 700 taking too many sales from them, so Japan downsizes the 750s to 700.

I sold it to a friend's son who put 15,000 miles on it after I had put 35,000 miles on it.

The GSX1100FP is a 1993 model, the last year it was sold (called a Katana) in the USA. It has 31,000 miles on it.

As you can see, I have Krauser hard luggage on both, just keep taking them from '82 GS650 to 700, now on the 1100.

I love the Katana but unfortunately it's not running at the present time. It seems like the carbs are giving trouble. I had the wife on the back at 150mph plus once.”

1973 Suzuki GT 550

Owner: Henrik Jansson
Åland, Finland

Comments: “I thought I'd send a picture of my now renovated Suzuki GT550K. I have sent a picture of it earlier, it was taken before the renovation about 20 years ago.

Here's some facts of the renovation:

I dismantled the bike for six years ago. I stripped the frame, sandblasted the engine, the frame and some smaller parts and painted them in original color. After a good while I found a small area of the original paint that appeared to be Green Lime Metallic. No paint codes have been saved so I had to pick up a similar color that matched the original as good as possible.

The project proceeded slowly but surely and last summer it was time to start the engine for the first time in six years! I've bought 90% of the parts through eBay from all over the world and the rest from the Nordic countries.

I'm very pleased with the results. It feels very nice to spread some blue smoke over the neighborhood!”

1963 Suzuki SKE 125

Owner: Tom Batesman,
Mount Barker, Western Australia

Comments: “I just bought an old Suzuki motorcycle at a garage sale.
It has a plate on it that gives the following information:

Model: SKE
Capacity: 125cc
Eng No: 148260
Frame No: 128396
Year : 1963
Weight: 112 kg

I have attached photos of the bike and even of the plate but it didn't come up very well.

I paid $150 Aus. It runs OK.”

'79 GS 1000 E

Neil sold his GS1000EN with 16,500 miles on the meter back in 1982. “A lovely bike sadly missed but well thrashed!” he writes.

1979 Suzuki GS 1000 E

Owner: Neil Harding,
Middlesbrough, England

Comments: “I have attached a picture of the first brand new bike I ever bought at the tender age of 19; a GS1000EN in blue, first registered April 1980. The picture was taken on the last day of ownership back in 1982, completely standard.

This bike did 16,500 miles in less than two years, still on the original chain. It did require a service and a rear tyre every 3,000 miles. If memory serves correctly it was on it's second set of disc pads.

There was a slight oil weep where the tacho cable went into the drive and it was on it's 3rd set of standard pipes.
After the baffels in the second set of exhausts started to rattle Suzuki replaced them again but I bought a 4 into 1 Yoshimura pipe for it straight away. What a noise that made — you could here it for miles. Unfortunately it scraped very easily on right handers.
I put the new standard pipes back on to sell the bike and sold the Yoshi to a lad with an ET.”

1975 Suzuki GT 750

Owner: Larry Martin, Ireland

Comments: “I'm sending a pic of my '75 GT750M. I have owned the bike for about eight years. It is totally original Candy Red. Even the mirrors have the red S on them.

It was brought over to Ireland from Arizona dessert where it had been lying in a garage for years.”

1972 Suzuki GT 750

Owner: Riccardo Rebagliati, Italy

Comments: “I send you pictures of my '72 GT750J — how I bought the bike and now, when it's finished.

I'm sorry that I don't write too much but I've broken my right clavicle... On a scooter, what a shame.

Thank you for the info you gave on your web site when restoring the GT750J!”
