Comments: ”I have enclosed pictures of my Suzuki GSX-R400R 1993 (GK76), it is in immaculate condition from when I bought it four months ago.

I love it to pieces, it has a Yoshimura Cyclone pipe, mini indicators and if you look closely at the shock control on the rear of the bike you may see that I have it covered with a Stella Artois cover!

The bike was well ahead of it's time, with the inverted front forks (only just being re-introduced), it's sleek racing frame and it's racing gears.

This bike is great fun to ride, it has a 0-60mph of about 4 seconds and top speed of 140 mph. You find that the true power only kicks in on the power band (which is quite high up, about 9,500 rpm) but as soon as you hit that power band the noise of the bike changes completely. It screams at you and you then take of down the road, builds up real anticipation when waiting to hit that power band!

The bike currently has 25,500 km on the clock, I've done some big journeys on it! The riding position is a full racing position, so a lot of strain on your wrists but when you get use to it, it is in fact a very comfortable ride.”

1986 Suzuki RG 400 Walter Wolf

Owner: Kevin Legault,
Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Comments: ”I've owned my '86 RG400 Walter Wolf Gamma since October 2003, purchased from the second owner in New Zealand. All original. Great shape and a real quick little machine. Probably the only one in Canada as these were never built for the North American market. Just got lucky I suppose.”

1986 Suzuki RG 500 Gamma

Owner: Jason Jakes,
New Zealand

Comments:”I have owned this RG500 for eight years and it has done over 40,000 km now. It has been a very reliable bike for me and the pistons and rings are still the same ones I brought it with.

I have made some changes on the Gamma. It weighs around 148 kg now and has about 100 hp at the rear wheel. Getting extra power is quite cheap as there are many low cost ways to improve engine output.

Nearly every part is still from the 1980's. Fuel mileage is good for a two-stroke – maybe better than they are in stock form. 12-13 km/liter. I also have a RG400EW-2 (1987?) that came to me with Walter Wolf Gauges, but was repainted so I don't know actually what it looked like originally. Belly pans were optional on the 400's, mine does not have one. Soon I want to rebuild the 400 from the ground up.”

1987 Suzuki RG 400 Gamma

Owner: Steve Bailey,
New Zealand

Comments: ”I bought it new in 1987 as they were sold new in New Zealand. A lot of people don't know that this motorcycle won the Isle Of Man production TT race in 1985, and Yoshimura Japan race team colors were made as a replica machine, as in the one i own.

It has 24,000 km on it from new and I have had no trouble with it. It is a very fast and comfortable bike which i tour on regularly.

This is quite a rare bike now so I thought your readers may like to see it.”
