1982 Suzuki GSX750E
.
Owner: Ian Leggett,

.
Comments: ”I purchased my GSX750E brand new from Mike Vinsen Bike Shop on Beach Rd. Auckland City, New Zealand. It was without doubt the best bike I have ever owned, a truly well balanced bike that was extremely forgiving in the corners in the eight years that I enjoyed her beauty. I only ever dropped her once, that is the quick wee tale behind the attached photos.
.
I think it was 1983 that we took a road trip round the south island of New Zealand, just me and my GSX. On my return journey up the west coast I travelled through the Nelson Lake District on the Buller Gorge Rd, pretty much following the Buller river. Awesome twists and turns and great ascensions sometimes to great heights above the river. Perfect territory for me and Lady GSX to have some fun – that is until I came across a rather slow car. I could see it was a dad and a young daughter so I maintained my discipline and did not try any unsafe moves.
.
Soon enough we came across a right hand hairpin were I could see easily the clear road rising up ahead, the kind father pulled to the outside of the bend to make even more room to pass, in my haste to get past I missed the sign that indicated the next 15 km/h left hand hairpin. Both me and my GSX tried so hard to get round, yet I had to relinquish failure and laid my lady down. Everything was fine until the peg dug into the dirt and high sided me.
.
I swear to this day the Angels held me through the air and laid me carefully on a 2 metre ledge about 3 metres over the cliff.
.
Slightly dazed but unhurt I looked around and there some 500 feet below was the river... I lay there on the edge just so very thankful for my saviours. Scrambling back up to my GSX there she was with a dinged up tank and one bent peg still perfectly rideable.”

Owner: Nathan Rider,

.
Comments: ”Here's a few pics of my beloved 82 GS 750T. It's all stock except I installed new master cylinder brake and clutch levers. I also installed clip on handlebars.
.
I love this bike. I originally bought it because I wanted to make a cafe racer but it was in such immaculate condition that I couldn't cut on her – so I only changed those few things leaving it as stock original as I could, only doing the mods that would easily be reversible.
.
I'm only the third owner. The guy I got it from had the same idea as me but it scared him, he almost laid it down playin on it. He got it from the original owner. He had those cheap clamp on filters on it and it would not run right. I only paid 500 dollars for it, and other than change the oil, clean carbs, reinstall the factory airbox on it, it fired right up. If I recall correctly it was this website that guided me to reinstalling the factory airbox.”

1979 Suzuki OR50
.
Owner: Clark James,
Reno, Nevada USA
.
Comments: ”A year and a half ago I purchased a white OR 50 with flames from the original owners in Reno, Nevada. I live in Santa Barbara, California. It's a fun little bike and starts easy, but it is smaller than I expected and I bought it sight unseen. The posted weight limit is 165 pounds and I'm close to 200, but it will pull me up a hill no problem.
.
I believe the bike is in original condition with a few dings and dents. I would like to replace the tank and fenders if I can find new ones. I have attached a few pictures that I took in front of my garage, for your reference. My OR60 has original 757 miles.”

Owner: Andrew Carpenter,
Columbia, Missouri USA
.
Comments: ”Hi, my name is Andy. I live in Columbia, Missouri in the United States and I wanted to contribute a picture to your wonderful ‘zuki site:-)
.
I saw that you didn’t have one of a later model with spoked wheels. I was given this '85 Suzuki GS300L by a friend who had to move. I just received it summer of 2023. Unfortunately it sat outside for the last few years and hadn’t been run the whole time. Didn’t take a lot to get it going and it runs great, aside from an oil leak on the left side of the engine that needs fixed. It has just under 18K miles, or about 29K km and appears to be completely stock.
.
This bike has a very low seat height which is great for short riders and for it’s low center of gravity. Very good motorcycle for beginners.
.
It’s parallel twin loves to rev but unfortunately has no tachometer to see where the rpm’s are at. It does however have an indicator telling you what gear you are in, kinda neat.
.
Thanks so much for your website, cheers :-)”

Owner: William Shannon,

Comments: ”The 1978 GS1000 didn't just have the 'E' model. It had a 'C' model too with a single front disk, spoke wheels, and a flat seat.
.
I personally own a '78 GS1000. It's was made before it was designated the C model (January of 1978, frame number 103503). I love it, it pulls like a train but does so so smooth but sharp. I just love it.
.
It has 19,000ish miles as of sending it and was sitting since 1987. I bought it this summer out of the shed where it sat since '87 and it runs amazing.
.
It's basically untouched from when it was new except for the back rack (which I think they look better with).”
