2008 Suzuki GSX 1400 Special Edition

Owner: Alf Petito,
Adelaide South Australia

Comments: ” I have owned this bike for three and a half years. I have made some modifications including a screen from Japan to match colour scheme, new 4 into 2 exhaust with replica exhaust mufflers to match earlier models, custom painted wheels and other highlight add ons. It has 33,000 km on it and is a treat to ride."

1984 Suzuki SP 125 E

Owner: Bob Kirby, St.John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada

Comments: ” I bought this bike in June 2021 with 6,000 miles (10,000 km) on the clock. This '84 Suzuki SP125 was initially used at a motorcycle school to teach people how to drive a motorcycle for the road. It was later sold to a guy who had it for years and then he sold it and after this owner, it was sold to me.

I believe that Suzuki (like Honda, Yamaha and Kawasaki) supplied these bikes to the Drivers School for free to encourage people to ride motorcycles, as well as promote their brand.

The bike is completely stock, with no modifications what so ever. The onlu problem was that the front tire needed a tube when I bought it.

It runs perfect and will idle away all day. I would not hesitate to use this bike for daily commutes or a long journey. All accounts from the previous owner (3rd owner), is that he had no issues and it served him well.

Great things about the bike:
• Inside the tank is absolutely prestine. No rust
• Appears to have been garage kept since Day 1
• Still has the street items installed (indicators, lights, tail lights)
• Bike has not been abused "

1982 Suzuki GS 650 G

2011 Suzuki DL 650 A V-Strom

Owner: Clair Heim, Pennsylvania, USA

Comments: ” I thought that I would finally send a message to thank you for your fine Suzuki site at suzukicycles.org and for all the work associated with it.
I have enjoyed reading an researching your site for perhaps the last ten years.

After leaving classic BWM's I bought a 2011 Suzuki DL650A (V-Strom). Upgraded the suspension and had full luggage and many improvements. After about six years I had to sell it for monetary reasons.

I discovered that I much missed riding and purchased a 1982 Suzuki GS650G a couple of years ago. It needed some attention, but I have been riding it frequently for the past two years. There is much I want to do with it yet. It is a very nicely balanced shaft drive bike.

I'm approaching 70 years of age, but don't yet wish to quit. "

1972 Suzuki GT 250
Owner: Pete Garfield, Australia

Comments: ”I purchased this bike a few months ago from the brother of the original owner, Michael Ralph.

The bike was imported to Melbourne Australia by a Suzuki dealer to compete in the Production racing class here. This was a year before the bike was available in local showrooms. It was hoped that the disc brake would make it more competitive against the Yamaha's of the day. Sadly the overall performance wasn't good enough so the bike was modified for C grade racing. A 315 top end was added along with Borani rims, Krober ignition, home made expansion chambers and a steering damper. Running on alcohol saw a massive increase in performance but still short of the Yamaha's with their full 350cc.

The bike was run for a few years and Mick still dabbled in production racing. He took a GT 250A to second place in the 250 class at the Bathurst Easter Races in 1980.

Not long after he went overseas, leaving the 315 in his parents garage. When Mick returned he moved interstate and the bike remained in Melbourne.

40 years later (!) his brother was having a Covid lockdown cleanup and put the bike up for sale. I had been looking for a old racer to restore and run in historic hill climbs and sprints so I couldn't get there fast enough.
It was a dusty and corroded time capsule yet after just a few weeks of cleaning and after only replacing the rubber intakes for the carburettors it started on the second kick!

The next day I gave it a short run on the road just to hear the brilliant induction and exhaust noise.

I managed to track Mick down through social media and he was thrilled that the bike was running again.

There is still plenty of work to do. The front end is a mess of rust and the hydraulic front brake needs a big cash injection. Although it came with many of the parts to put it on the road it's going to stay a track bike for now.

That's the way Mick and I want it."

1978 Suzuki GS 750 D

Owner: Marco Strapparava
Brescia, Italy

Comments: ” My name's Marco and I've become the owner of a '78 "GS750". But.. I'm not sure the model is right!

Through your site, using the bike identification FAQ, I checked the frame number and it should be right: GS750D.

I suspect that this bike went through a customisation process that made it difficult to identify the right model at the first attempt (by images). The informations on your site made it easier. Thank you!

Before thinking of bringing it back to original, I'd like to ask You to take a look at the picture attached, to double check if I identified it correctly.

Also, from your experience, could You tell what the previous owner was attempting to do with this customisation? Was it a common thing at that time?

Thank you very much for reading and for what you've done so far. "

Yes, it sure looks like there's a GS750 hiding somewhere under the GSX-R 750 fairing...
No, it's not a usual customisation. I have never seen
anything like it, someone trying to transform a seventies street bike to a gixxer. I think it's a fun project!
