1991 Solifer-Suzuki S 1

Owner: Tomi Riihiaho,
Karjaa Finland

Purchased: Winter 2002

Comments: I like the Suzuki
S1 moped, it works good and looks nice :-)

It has been repainted during the winter of 2002 by my brother
Lasse Riihiaho. We are both very proud of it.

Lasse painted it first all Blue, but then he painted those lighter
blue flames on it. I think it looks very nice!

I haven't done much repairing, it doesn't need it. I can't find
anything bad in my S1.

I would be glad to chat more about the S1 or other Suzuki mopeds.
Please e-mail me, moped owners! :-)

See even Tomi's RB50 on pages 57 and 64. The first (1 2 3)
photos on this page were replaced by new ones in June 2004.
See even the page 62 for even newer
photos.

2001 Suzuki FX 125

Owner: Giorgos, Athens Greece

Comments: I'm a proud owner
of a (for Western Europe) very rare Suzuki FX125, 2001-year's
model.

No mods, just the mirrors off. No problems, everything working
just fine.
Somewhat difficul to find spare parts thought (if you ever need
them).

It's the best bike to use in Athens center were there is extreme
traffic problem.

Just love it. I also have a Honda Transalp 650 and a Citroen Saxo
VTS 16V.

1970 Suzuki TC 90 Honcho
1971 Suzuki T 250 R Hustler

Owner: Tony Earl, Queensland Australia

Comments: I now live in Redland
Bay (suburb of Brisbane), Queensland Australia. However, at the
time these bikes were purchased I was resident in Fairfield (suburb
of Sydney), New South Wales Australia.

The TC 90 was my first bike, purchased in 1970 and as you will
note, it does not have the original front mud guard. In order
to register the bike for road use back in 1970, a normal road
guard had to be fitted. Other than that, there were no modifications.

I only had the TC for about a year during which time I used it
to go to work and trail riding on weekends. As soon as I had my
full licence I sold the TC to a friend who then promptly road
it into the ground.

I moved up to the T 250 Hustler in 1971. This bike originally
belonged to my brother. I had the Hustler for about five years
and once again used it for travel to work and weekend rides. I
also managed to get in quite a bit of touring around New South
Wales before eventually trading up to a BSA A65 Lightning.

The Hustler was a really good bike and I put up quite a lot of
mileage in the 5 years I rode her. She remained in standard trim
(crash bars were fitted) needing only regular servicing to keep
her going well.

For a 250cc, performance was quite good, being capable of shaming
a lot of larger capacity machinery available at that time. The
only thing I didn't like were the high rise handle bars. They
induced a sit up and beg riding position and was not conducive
to playing boy racer.

I don't know about the rest of the world, but I have not seen
an example of either of these bikes on Australian roads for many
years. Two strokes of this vintage were not particularly environmentally
friendly. They blew smoke and un burnt oil all over the place.

I remember on one occasion travelling down the Hume Highway from
Sydney to Melbourne. I was in a car and my brother was riding
the Hustler. Looking in the rear view mirror of the car all I
could see coming up behind was this mass of blue smoke with an
orange centre in it. He went past the car as if it was standing
still.

1981 Suzuki GSX 750 L

Owner: Lars Robenius, Nyköping Sweden

Comments: I bought the bike
this summer in Stockholm. It's not modified or repainted and has
run about 30,000 km.

It's a fantastic bike in many ways. If you are looking for a rare
custom bike this is the one.

The engine is wery powerful, there is no problem riding on the
fifth gear at 50 kph with passenger and accelerate. It can also
be driven fast like a sportbike even though it becomes windy.
These qualities together makes it rather unique.

Because of these reasons I'm sure I will keep it for many years
as I don't
have any idea of what to buy instead.

1981 Suzuki GSX 1100 E

Owner: Don Galli, Scotland, UK

Purchased: July 2003

Comments: The bike is standard
and original apart from the exhaust. It was an import and has
only done 16,784 miles. It was registered new in 1981 (W) and
is in excellent condition.

I find the bike is great to ride and very comfortable. I intend
to keep it in it's present condition as I think it looks a good
all round bike.

1986 Suzuki GV 1400 LX Cavalcade

Owner: Woody Graetz, San Diego California USA

Comments: Here's a pix of
my '86 Suzuki Cavalcade (manufactured 4-85). It's an LX with many
LXE options such as lower fairings, turning lights in lower guards,
intercom system in factory stereo/cassette deck, etc.

The bike is a full tourer with air suspension, cruise control,
air bladder seats(driver and passenger), locking saddlebags and
trunk. The paint is original but has hand painted pinstriping.
The pix was taken near the Point Loma Lighthouse.

After nearly 18 years there still no other touring bike that compares
to it for comfort.
