Suzuki export countries

I have gathered some info on this page of the countries to where Suzuki Motor Company (Japan) exports motorcycles. I would be grateful of any contributions — sales brochures, magazine ads, magazine articles, pictures, specs, facts, corrections etc. Please scan the material in JPEG format (large enough that all the details are visible) and send them to me. Please tell me the source and the publication date if possible. If you send me pictures of your own bike, please follow these instructions.

A moderate export of Suzuki motorcycles from Japan started in the early sixties. After the launching of the T20 (X-6 in America) in 1965 the export really boomed and now Suzuki motorcycles are sold worldwide. It is possible to make a list of the countries where Suzuki motorcycles are distributed today, but I don't care to do it. The list would contain over 120 countries.

On these pages I plan to put some information of the countries Suzuki motorcycles have been manufactured and sold today. Most of the bikes are naturally made in Japan, but there are also plants in almost every continent. You can find a list of the manufacturing countries here.

I also plan to make lists of the models that were sold in different countries and also find their specs, that will show the differencies between models sold on different markets. The most significant differencies can probably be found in the engine performances. The laws and regulations are the main reason for the different power figures in different countries.

If you have any full line brochures or info of the Suzuki models sold in your country on a specific year, please don't hesitate to contact me. If you can scan the entire brochure for me (JPEG format, 200% scanning ratio, 60% JPEG compression ratio preferred) and mail it to me and I will put it on my site after making a web friendly bersions of the scans. Please send only one brochure page at the time to make it easier for me to handle my e-mail. Here's more info.

You can also send the original brochure to me by mail if you can part from your brochure. Use the following address: Jarmo Haapamäki, 64030 Hälleforsnäs, Sweden. Don't forget to enclose information of how I can contact you (e-mail address) if any questions may pop up.

Any information about the import of Suzuki motorcycles (especially the early days) in your country (or any other country), links, tips and corrections are also welcome!

Thank you,

Jarmo Haapamäki, the webmaster

1964 Suzuki Outline catalogue (36 pages). Click to enlarge. This catalogue publication from 1964 was used to encourage motorcycle shops to become Suzuki dealers. It was kindly sent to me by Richard Kerr, New Zealand.
.
In 1964, the Suzuki Motor Company boasted that they already had more than 88 dealers abroad. They had overseas offices in Brussels, Santa Ana and Singapore.
.
The motorcycle models they presentes in this booklet were the 50cc models M30, M15/M15D and M12, the 80 cc models K10 and K11, the 125cc model S31 and M30, the 15occ model S32 and 250cc model T10. The catalogue showed also the minitruck Suzulight 360 FB.
.
Printed in Japan, August 1964.
