Suzuki's smallest V-Strom model, the V-Strom 160 was unveiled in November 2024. The new V-Strom 160 is made in Brazil, to be sold in the South American market. The Suzuki V-Strom 160 is based on the existing motorcycle model, DL160, manufactured in Chinese partner, Haojue. The power plant of the V-Strom 160 is a air-cooled single-cylinder 162cc four-stroke with a single camshaft and fuel injection, delivering 14.75 hp and 14 Nm. It has 5-speed gearbox, It has a single disc brake with ABS braking system both front and rear, 17-inch alloy wheels, telescopic front forks and monoshock at the rear. Other features of the small adventure bike include a USB charging port, LED lights and turn signals, electric starter and a round all-digital console. It has 795 mm seat height, 13-litre fuel tank and kerb weight of just 148 kg. The V-Strom 160 is not an off-road machine. Neither the suspension setup, the 160 mm ground clearance nor the standard cast wheels are suitable for serious off-roading. Suzuki Colombia is marketing it as an ideal bike for touring and adventure riding, capable of sporty cornering on paved roads and solid handling on unpaved roads. The tall handlebar and seemingly spacious and comfortable seat indicate that the V-Strom 160 is meant to offer comfortable ride even over longer distances. Its low weight and fuel injection system most likely result in excellent fuel economy. The Suzuki V-Strom 160 is planned to be available in shops in June 2025 and in marketed as 2026 years model. The available colors shown in a catalogue produced in March 2025 are White, Yellow and Black.
