Suzuki SP370
19781979
I have tried to tell the Suzuki SP 370 model history
on this page as I know it. This page is still under construction.
I would be grateful of any contributions sales brochures, magazine ads,
magazine articles, pictures, specs, facts, corrections etc. Please scan the material
in JPEG format (large enough that all the details are visible) and send
them to me. Please tell me the source and the publication date if possible.
If you send me pictures of your own bike, please follow these
instructions.

1978 Suzuki year code: C

The Suzuki SP370 was the first Suzuki motorcycle with a single
cylinder four-stroke engine, if you don't count the short-lived
Colleda CO and COX models from the fifties. Unfoirtunately it
had a bit too weak angine and it was a bit too expensive to become
a great success. Yamaha, for example, could offer a 500cc trail
bike for the same money as you had to pay for the SP370.

1979 Suzuki year code: N

A power-restricted model called SR370 was offered in some countries,
including Russia and Germany. It had a 17 hp engine (12,4 kW at
5,950 rpm) using 22 mm Bing carburetor instead of 32 mm Mikuni
that was mounted on the SP370.
The
SP370 was replaced in 1980 by the SP400, a similar bike but with
a more powerful engine.
