I would be grateful of any contributions sales brochures, magazine ads,
magazine articles, pictures, specs, facts, corrections etc. Please scan the material
in JPEG format (large enough that all the details are visible) and send
them to me. Please tell me the source and the publication date if possible.
If you send me pictures of your own bike, please follow these

1983 Suzuki year code: D

Suzuki introduced its succesfull RM series of motocross models in 1975. The largest of them all, RM500, was introduced in 1983 and had a black frame, black fork boots, black seat and slightly different fuel tank and tank decals from the 1984 model.
The '83 RM500 differed from the '82 RM465 mainly from the increase in engine bore size. Other than minor cosmetic changes, the bikes were very similar.
At the time it was the largest motocrosser from Suzuki (when RM400 was introduced in 1980 it was the largest). The Full-Floater rear suspension was first used by the works road racing and motocross teams. It went into the RM series in 1981.
