Suzuki Mini CRO 50 (CM50)
1975—1977

I have tried to find some Suzuki CM 50 / Mini CRO 50 info to put on this page. I would be grateful of any contributions — sales brochures, magazine ads, magazine articles, pictures, specs, facts, corrections etc. Please scan the material in JPEG format (large enough that all the details are visible) and send them to me. Please tell me the source and the publication date if possible. If you send me pictures of your own bike, please follow these instructions.
.
Launched in 1975, the Suzuki Mini CRO 50 (model code CM50) was a small off-road bike with a black-painted 49cc two-stroke single cylinder rotary disc valve engine, a long stroke Ceriani type front fork, twin shock/coil spring rear suspension, down-up exhaust pipe, drum brakes front and rear and equipped with small-diameter block pattern tires. The model name derived from ”mini motorcrosser”.

The model was released short after the Suzuki Mini CRO 75 (CM75) and used the same tubular frame, suspension and wheels as its big brother. The models were practically identical, apart from the engine and transmission. The Mini CRO 50 had a five-speed return transmission while the Mini CRO 75 transmission had four speeds.

Suzuki had already a 50cc off-road bike in its lineup, the Hustler 50 (TS50). The Mini CRO 50 had smaller wheels and its engine delivered less peak power than the Hustler 50. The Mini CRO had 16-inch wheel at the front and 14-inch rear wheel, while the Hustler had 17-inch wheels front and rear. The Mini CRO engine delivered 5 hp peak power, the Hustler pekaed at 6 hp.

Both 50 and 75 versions of the Mini CRO were discontinued after only three years on the market.
