Suzuki JR50

I have tried to tell the DR-Z 50 model history on this page as I know it. This page is still under construction. I would be grateful of any contributions — sales brochures, magazine ads, magazine articles, pictures, specs, facts, corrections etc. Please scan the material in JPEG format (large enough that all the details are visible) and send them to me. An easy and fun choice for children to learn the fundamentals of riding. It has a 49 cc single cylinder engine and a single-speed automatic transmission, using a centrifugal clutch and height adjustable suspension. An oil injected two-stroke engine provides optimum lubrication and an oil level window makes it easy to see when a refill is needed.

The Suzuki JR50 is designed for children ages 5 to 12, and has been used for both racing and recreational riding. The JR50's engine was later used in the ALT50 and LT50 ATV's. The model was first launched in 1978, and has been progressively improved over the decades.
