Launched in November 2017, the Suzuki Intruder 150, assembled in India, was based on the company's successful 150cc platform that also underpins the popular Gixxer models. The SEP (Suzuki Eco Performance) based air-cooled, single-cylinder 155 cc engine deliveres 14.8 hp of power and 14Nm of torque and has a five-speed gearbox. The bike featured 41mm telescopic front suspension and monoshock rear suspension and 140 mm wide rear radial tyre. Both the front and rear got disc brakes (266 mm at front and 240 mm at the rear) complemented with a single-channel Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) as standrad. It has a fully digital instrument cluster. Suzuki Intruder 150 was the first Indian-made cruiser, technically based on the Gixxer 150, but the appearance of the Intruder is totally different. Its large dimensions can easily have someone mistaking this for a larger-than-150cc bike. While the Gixxer 150 looked like a racer, the designers of the Intruder 150 have been inspired by its bigger cousing, like the Intruder M1800R, but gave the Intruder 150 its own futuristic, somewhat sci-fi-inspired looks. You may love it, you may hate it. It's your call. Those who have ridden the Intruder 150 claim that the bikedoes not have the feel of a heavy cruiser, although it looks like one. It's slightly heavier than the perky Gixxer 150 and handles almost the same. The large-looking fuel tank is flanked by equally large tank extensions. Despite the massive size, the cruiser turns into corners quickly and the long wheelbase aids stability. The Intruder 150 is actually much a Gixxer 155 in different clothing. The same engine, chassis and suspension with all of it tweaked for the cruiser layout. The Intruder uses a different gearing ratio, with the rear sprocket having an extra tooth. The Airbox is also different, a bigger intake and a different exhaust is employed on the Intruder. The chassis is essentially the same. A longer swing arm and a different rake angle increase the wheelbase and give the bike decidedly cruiser ergonomics. These along with the cosmetic changes add 8 kg over the Gixxer. The 5-speed gearbox has a heel-toe type shifter. The bike is offered in two versions. Suzuki launched Intruder 150 in November 2017 with a carburetted engine. A fuel injected version entered the market in March 2018. The 155 cc fuel-injected powerplant is the same unit that does duty in the Suzuki Intruder 150FI engine. The fuel-injection will result in better refinement, efficiency and throttle response. Like the Gixxer SF and Gixxer SF FI, the Intruder 150 and the Intruder 150 FI will have no variations in power and torque figures. The standard Suzuki Intruder 150 was offered in two colours: Metallic Oort Gray / Metallic Matte Black (AH2) and Glass Sparkle Black / Metallic Matte Titanium Silver (BLG) The Intruder 150 special edition had a matte black colour scheme with sporty red graphics. The version also gets the billion back-rest as a standard fitment and the motorcycle already comes equipped with a single-channel ABS (anti-lock braking system), assisting the front disc brake. The Intruder 150 SP was offered in color scheme Metallic Matte Black / Candy Sonoma Red.

Suzuki Intruder 150 Special Edition came in a Matte Black colour scheme with Candy Red graphics. The version also gets the billion backrest as a standard fitment.

Suzuki India's quirky-looking cruiser, the Intruder 150, received an update for 2019. The footpegs were repositioned plus the gear shift and brake pedal redesigned for better ergonomics. It also comes with a cushioned pillion backrest as standard, apart from a crash guard. Earlier, the pillion backrest was only available in the SP variant, a variant that have now disappeared. Even the belly pan has been done away with in the 2019 model. Another major change in the 2019 model is the introduction of a new colour: Metallic Matte Titanium Silver. Honestly, when you look at the bike, you'll realise it's just a glorified name for the copper and black dual tone colour scheme. Powering the Suzuki Intruder 150 is still the 155 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled petrol engine. It is the same block that powers the Gixxer. Rated at 14.8 PS and 14 Nm of peak torque, this engine comes with fuel-injection, which will result in better refinement, efficiency and throttle response. The Government of India issued regulations known as BSES (Bharat Stage Emission Standards) to control the emission of pollutants by two-wheelers and cars. Under this norm, all vehicles including two-wheelers, must meet the BS6 regulations from 1 April 2020. The emission standard of BS6 is much stricter when compared to BS4. As a result of this, the Suzuki Intruder 150, that now meets BS6 emission standards, gives now 13.6 PS (10.14 kW) at 8 000 rpm and 13.8 Nm at 6 000 rpm in India. Comparatively, the Suzuki Intruder BS4 produced 1.2 PS and 0.2 Nm more at the same rpm. The Vietnamese brochure mentions the figures 13.95 PS (10.4 kW) and 14.0 Nm (1.43 kg-m) instead. It continues to be offered in three shades of Metallic Matte Titanium Silver, Metallic Matte Black/Candy Sonoma Red and Glass Sparkle Black/Metallic Matte Titanium Silver.
