The Suzuki GSX-8R is an all-new full-fairing sports bike, revealed at Eicma, Italy in November 2023 together with the Suzuki GSX-S1000GX. It is based on the GSX-8S, s naked twin that was launched a year earlier. They both use a brand-new 776cc, DOHC, parallel twin engine with 270° crank, designed to deliver punchy torque and a flexible character. They also share the steel frame, with each using a bespoke subframe, swingarm, and suspension components for unique ergonomics and riding experience. As standard, each comes with a five-inch full-colour TFT dash, a three-mode traction control system, bi-directional quickshifter, selectable power modes, and a slipper clutch. features shared with the new-for-2023 GSX-8S, including a steel frame designed to contribute straight line stability and agile handling and separate aluminium subframe, cast aluminium wheels, and dual, radially mounted front calipers. However, key component changes - such as lower handlebars and a full fairing, plus suspension from Showa - give the GSX-8R a sportier poise. With features including separate forged aluminium handlebars, uniquely shaped aluminium swingarm, inverted Showa front forks, dual front disc brakes with four-piston, radial-mounted calipers, LED lighting and colour TFT instrument panel, and an advanced electronic control system that includes Suzuki Drive Mode Selector, Suzuki Traction Control System, a bi-directional quickshifter and a ride-by-wire electronic throttle, the GSX- 8R is a sportsbike set to lead the way toward an exciting new era, Suzuki says. Dealing with the increased weight bias towards the front, Showa provides the suspension, with SFF-BP* (Separate Function Fork – Big Piston) inverted forks and monoshock in the rear. Mounted radially to the forks are Nissin four-piston calipers, providing stopping power by biting 310mm discs. Tyres are Dunlop Roadsport 2s. Aiding rideability, usability, and flexibility is a suite of electronic systems that includes a bi-directional quickshifter as standard, three selectable engine power modes, and three selectable traction control settings, plus the ability to disengage the system entirely. Suzuki Motor USA released the 2025-year's models of the GSX-8R in August 2024, the only change being of updating the color shemes. The Metallic Triton Blue (YSF) and Pearl Ignite Yellow (QZY) remained in the catalogue and a new color, Metallic Matt Black No.2 (YKV) with a silver subframe and blacked-out wheels, was now available even in the US and Canada, replacing the Metallic Matt Sword Silver (QKA). In many countries, even the color schemes were unchanged. The Suzuki GSX-8R is a sportier version of the naked GSX-8S introduced in November 2023 and remains powered by a liquid-cooled 776 cc parallel twin that makes a claimed 82 hp at 8,500 rpm and 57.5 lb-ft of torque at 6,800 rpm.

Only cosmetic changes. 2026 Suzuki GSX-8R was offered in three liveries in the US: Pearl Tech White (QU2), Metallic Triton Blue (YSF) and Glass Blaze Orange (QRE). In Canada, a 4th color option, Metallic Mat Black No.2 (YKV) with red wheels and graphics, was also available.
