I have tried to tell the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 model history on this page as I know it. 2019 Suzuki year code: L9

The Suzuki Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 (GSX250FR) was introduced in India in May 2019. Three months later, in August 2019, a naked version, the Gixxer 250 (GSX250R), was added to the lineup. These quarter-litre motorbikes helped Suzuki to find a grip in the 250 cc segment in the country. Both bikes were equipped with a 248cc single cylinder, four-valve, single overhead cam engine with Suzuki Oil Cooling System (SOCS), a fully-digital instrument console and an all-LED setup for lighting. The Gixxer SF 250 was very similar to its little brother, 155cc Gixxer SF, introduced in September 2014. The name of the model series derives from a nickname used for Suzuki's GSX-R series of bikes. Both models come equipped with disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels, along with dual-channel ABS to avoid skidding on the roads while braking. Suzuki launched the India-made Suzuki Gixxer 250 and Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 in Japan in March 2020, although the production and deliveries of the bikes were been delayed due to the coronavirus outbreak. Suzuki launched the BS6 versions (BS = Bharat Stage emission norms for cleaner exhausts on vehicles) of the Gixxer 250 and Gixxer SF 250 in India in May 2020. The new Suzuki Gixxer 250 and SF 250 come with an updated BS6-compliant 249cc engine which generates 26.5hp of power at 9,300rpm and 22.2Nm of peak torque at 7,300rpm. For transmission duties, both motorcycles get a six-speed manual gearbox. Both models come equipped with disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels, along with dual-channel ABS to avoid skidding on the roads while braking. To manage suspension duties, the motorcycles house telescopic forks on the front and a mono-shock unit on the rear. To celebrate the 100th anniversary of Suzuki, a new colour shade includes a combination of Triton Blue and Silver for the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250. On the other hand, the naked Gixxer 250 is introduced with Triton Blue colour with Suzuki's trademark racing graphics to enhance the racing appeal of the motorcycle. Moving on to the 155cc segment, the Gixxer, and Gixxer SF has been relaunched with added Gixxer graphics that will shout out for its sportier aesthetics. Most striking of the colours in the Pearl Mira Red colour on the Gixxer 155 series of motorcycles. Another option that customers could opt for is Metallic Triton Blue on both the bikes. In october 2021, Suzuki launched the Gixxer 250 and Gixxer SF250 in Vietnam. It was the first time Suzuki was launching a 250 cc motorcycle in that market. Colors: Metallic Matte Black, Metallic Matte Platinum Silver

No changes were made to the 2022 model. But in India, motorcycle wheel cover at the rear became a mandatory fitment from October 2020. Every motorcycle which has provision for a pillion rider should come equipped with a permanent hand grip and footrests — and a protective panel or disc that covers at least half the rear wheel to prevent clothes or any accessory of the pillion rider from getting entangled.

2023 Gixxer 250/SF250 models with new graphics were presented in January 2023 (later in some countries). They received minor changes from the previous model, including compliance with emission regulations and a new livery. Both the Gixxer 250 and SF250 were available in two new colors, Matte Stella Blue Metallic and Matte Black Metallic. The India-spec Gixxer 250/SF250 features a smartphone linkage function and a lineup of new Exstar colors. In India, motorcycle wheel cover at the rear became a mandatory fitment from October 2020. That's why the funny looking guard is attached at the rear wheel on the bike in the pictures below.

In most countries, where the model was available, the Gixxer SF250 remained unchanged. Even the colour options were the same:  Metallic Matte Stellar Blue (YUA), Metallic Matte Black No.2 (YKV), Metallic Sonic Silver / Metallic Triton Blue (BPD). In India, the Gixxer was upgraded. The new version of this popular 250cc sportbike now meets the new and upcoming OBD-2B (On-Board Diagnostics) emissions standards, ensuring better environmental compliance. The new specification which applies to bioethanol up to 85% has been added. By improving the fuel injector, fuel pump, and fuel filter, users can use wide range of bio-ethanol fuel. Because bio-ethanol fuel derives from plants, it contributes to the reduction of CO2 compared to the conventional fossil fuel. The claimed peak power of the engine has increased a notch. Using different fuel results to slightly different numbers. Additionally, the 2025 model gets new colour options in India. The Gixxer 250 and Gixxer SF 250 now come in three colour choices: Metallic Mat Black No.2 (YKV), Metallic Mat Black No.2 / Metallic Mat Bordeaux Red (CUU), and Metallic Triton Blue / Pearl Glacier White (AGQ).
