Suzuki Gixxer is a India-made 155cc small motorbike, introduced in September 2014. The name of the model series derives from a nickname used for Suzuki's GSX-R series of bikes. It was avaiable in two different versions, the ”Gixxer” or ”Gixxer 150” with a top fairing and the ”Gixxer SF” or ”Gixxer SF150”, that had a full fairing. The available colors for the Suzuki Gixxer SF were Pearl Mirage White (YPA), Glass Sparkle Black (YVB) and Metallic Triton Blue (YSF).

The 2016 colors for the Gixxer included Metallic Oort Grey, Candy Antares Red, Glass Sparkle Black and Metallic Triton Blue. In August 2015 Suzuki India announced that the the Suzuki Gixxer was now available in two new dual tone colours – Metallic Triton Blue with Pearl Mirage White (BAQ) and Candy Antares Red with Glass Sparkle Black (APS). It also featured new graphics, new clear lens turn signals, and that the side frames of the bike were colour-coordinated with its new dual tone color schemes. Another dual tone color – Black and Green, was added in February 2016. In September 2016, Suzuki launched a special edition of the Gixxer street sport naked and faired motorcycles. The two new motorcycles were called the Gixxer SP and Gixxer SF SP and were only available with a rear disc brake option. The Gixxer SP and Gixxer SF SP got classic race inspired graphics and a unique Gixxer SP emblem. They had a maroon coloured seat and clear lens LED tail lamps. The Gixxer SP and Gixxer SF SP were available in Matt Fibroin Grey / Glass Sparkle Black (AR4) color.

The new 2017 Suzuki Gixxer model continues with a 154.9cc, single-cylinder, SOHC engine that comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. This BS-IV compliant engine produces a max. power of 14.5 bhp  at 8,000 rpm along with a peak torque of 14 Nm at 6,000 rpm. The 2017 version received new color schemes on each variant. Gixxer with a rear drum brake could now be bought in just Glass Sparkle Black shade. The Gixxer with rear disc could now be bought in two single tone shades – Metallic Triton Blue, Glass Sparkle Black and one dual tone shade Pearl Mira Red/Glass Sparkle Black. 2017 Gixxer SF and its fuel injected variant share two shades in common – Metallic Triton Blue, Glass Sparkle Black/Metallic Matt Black. Pearl Mira Red stays exclusive to the Gixxer SF carburetor version. The Gixxer SF SP gets fuel injection and ABS as well (the Gixxer SP's engine has a carburetted unit). This launch comes on the heels of the launch of the Gixxer SF with ABS. The SP editions get a tri-tone paint finish of red, black and white. The graphics are new and have a prominent SP logo on the sides. The Gixxer SP will also come in an orange and black two-tone paint scheme. The rest of the motorcycle remains mechanically unchanged.

The 2018 version of the Gixxer continues being a popular motobike in the 150cc section in India. It is good looking, has good handling and riding capability and offers Anti-Braking System feature. A lot of other bikes in this segment do not have this safety feature. The Gixxer sports a 155cc SOHC engine that also runs in the Gixxer SF and Intruder. Features of this bike include an engine kill switch, front and rear disc brakes, ABS, a fully digital LCD instrument cluster with digital tachometer and a sporty-dual exhaust system. These features, we think, are good enough for this segment. Gixxer comes in 3 variants – Front Disc, Front and Rear Disc and ABS. The bike offers as much as 55 km/liter on the highway. In urban conditions, safely expect a mileage of 50 km/liter. Top speed: 115 km/h. The L8 model colors were presented already in February 2017. In June 2018, a new two-tone color option was added to the palette: Candy Sonoma Red / Sonic Silver (CZU). The Suzuki Gixxer SF also has received new styling, similar to the new Suzuki Gixxer SF 250. The updated Gixxer SF comes with a full LED headlight that gives it a more premium and sporty look. The windscreen design has also been tweaked. The fairing has received design has been revised for sportier looks. A new instrument console occupies the cockpit of the 2019 model. The shift indicator has been repositioned to sit on the top while the telltale indicators continue to fill the space on the flanks of the digital display. The gear position indicator has been moved to the left side of the screen, while the speedometer now sits in the centre. The tachometer and the fuel gauge positions remain unchanged. The odometer, two trip meters and the clock sit at the bottom of the screen. The “Select” and “Adjust” buttons are now part of the glass surround of the console. The fuel tank design has received minor tweaks, designed to go well with the updated fairing. The tank recesses offer sufficient room to lock the knees while crouching down on straight lines, or while going around corners. Changes have also been made to the saddle, and unlike the previous model’s single-seat setup, the 2019 Gixxer SF comes with a split-style seat. Besides adding a sporty look to the package, the split-style saddle also makes accessing the under-seat storage easier. Three color options were offered, including Metallic Sonic Silver/Glass Sparkle Black, Glass Sparkle Black/Glass Sparkle Black and Metallic Triton Blue.

Changes on the cosmetic front of the 2019 Gixxer include a new LED headlight assembly. This is the same unit that is expected to be seen on the upcoming Gixxer 250. The new tail light too get all LED elements. The naked motorcycle gets revised split seats, a sharper fuel tank, and a new set of alloy wheels. These changes are similar to what we have seen on the 2019 iteration of the fully-faired Gixxer SF. The all digital instrument cluster and chrome-tipped double-barrel exhaust layout is similar to that of the Gixxer SF as well. You could say that its look has become more aggressive than before. The new unit of LED headlamps is available. On the other hand, its shads are also new. It features a new tail section that looks like the recently launched Gixxer SF. The new White Backlit Instrument Console replaces the old model's Orange Backlit unit. Powering the 2019 Suzuki Gixxer is a 154.9 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled petrol engine. It is the same block that powers the SF. Rated at 14.1 bhp and 14 Nm of peak torque, this engine comes with fuel-injection, which will result in better refinement, efficiency and throttle response. The bike is also equipped with a single-channel ABS (anti-lock braking system) as standard. The 2019 Suzuki Gixxer also does away with a kick starter and utilises only an electric unit. Three color options were offered, including Metallic Sonic Silver/Glass Sparkle Black, Glass Sparkle Black/Glass Sparkle Black and Metallic Triton Blue.
