The Colleda 250TT twin was replaced in 1957 by the Colleda TT-P or short TP ("P" = popular). Derived from the TT of 1956 it had a simplified exterior to allow a lower price, a newly designed tube type frame, a painted (not plated) headlight, a single seat and a carrier on the rear fender. The tandem seat and tail fin-like turn signal holder of the TT were omitted. The design of the tank was also different. The maximum power output increased to 18 hp and the leading-link fork was replaced by a telescopic one.
The Colleda ST was modernized every year, The 1957 ST-3 being the third model version of the popular bike was almost identical to ST-2, still using the old engine and chassis. The headlight (commonly known as the skull light) was redesigned similar to the Colleda TT, giving the bike a more sporty look. |
