| I have tried to tell the Suzuki Bandit 600 (GSF 600 and GSF
600 S) model history on this page as I know it. This page is still
under construction.
I would be grateful of any contributions — sales brochures, magazine ads,
magazine articles, pictures, specs, facts, corrections etc. Please scan the material
in JPEG format (large enough that all the details are visible) and send
them to me. Please tell me the source and the publication date if possible.
If you send me pictures of your own bike, please follow these

1995 Suzuki year code: S
| The naked Suzuki GSF600 N Bandit was released in February 1995, with a retuned engine from the GSX600. The styling of the bike was based on the existing GSF400 Bandit, launched in 1989. |
1996 Suzuki year code: T
| In 1996, the faired Bandit S model with a bikini half-fairing was introduced. |
1997 Suzuki year code: V
| Minor changes were made for the 1997 Suzuki Bandit 600 and 600S models. A clutch switch was added, requiring the clutch to be pulled in when starting the motorcycle. Carburettor heaters were also added. |

The naked N model received passenger grab rails for the 1998 model. The 1998 S model remained technically unchanged.

2000 Suzuki year code: Y
The 2000 year's models of the Bandit 600 (both versions) received some major upgrades. It got new rear bodywork, fully electronic instrumentation, new carburettors with throttle position sensor, an additional fuel filter and Nissin brake calipers. Improvements were even made to the frame and steering geometry. The seat height was lowered and the fuel tank was enlarged from 19 to 20 litres (4.4 imp gal; 5.3 US gal).
The S model received a new half fairing with twin headlights.

| The updarged made for the 2000 season were the first and only major updates made for the Badit 600 models. The only noticable change after that was adding a fuel gauge to the 2002 models. |

A Limited Editon version of the naked GSF600N was offered in some
countries for 2004. I found the pictures below on Suzuki's website
in Finland. The 2004 GSF1200N was also available with similar
paint job.

2005 Suzuki year code: K5
The 2005-year's version of the 600 Bandit has a new larger engine and is now called GSF650 Bandit. The piston displacement has been increased by 56cc for better torque at low- and mid-revs. The bike is 4 kg (9 lbs) lighter and the suspension also revisited with more adjustements both front and rear. The seat height can be adjusted on the K5 model, between 770 and 790 mm (19.56 to 20.07 inches). Also the handlebar height can be adjusted by one centimeter (0.4 in.). The new engine is now black. ABS (anti-locking) brakes are offered as an option.
